Introduction to Lisp
Intended audience: Programmers unfamiliar with Lisp
The first 29 programmers will receive a “Lisp Gift Bag DVD”!
Are you interested in Lisp? Have you heard about all of the insanely great things that will come about from learning it?
If you are looking for that “insanely great” used car salesmen experience to convince you to learn Lisp, I have to tell you now “sorry”, because you won’t find it here (a cool sales pitch wouldn’t keep you around for long, anyway).
Instead, you’ve got me; some who is, to put it mildly, obsessed with studying computation. I love learning, and if you do too you might be interested to attend.
I would like to share with you whatever I can offer, in whatever format makes the most sense. Here are some options:
1. Presentation format: I will go over a pre-written presentation that sort of walks through a number of elements of Lisp.
2. Pure question and answer format.
3. Playing in the REPL: write and execute code on the spot.
4. Code review. I’ve got a bunch of code that would could examine and run.
5. Mash up.
The gift bag includes:
1. Papers.
2. Interpreters.
3. Videos.
