Are you interested in learning Python? Come to this 2 hours session where we learn Python together. Do you know Python? Come answer questions and lend a helping hand.
grettke, Oshuma:
I’ll hopefully be in Madison with the other Milwaukee folks early Saturday, or probably right at 10AM, if you want to beginning planning on how we’ll pull all these off, and scheduling things, before we get started.
I’m going to arrive late for the potluck, but I will be there for the 12:00pm start time.
Please go ahead and schedule me in wherever you like (with the caveat the in the overall ordering, Dirty Macros must come after the intro), I’ve got two:
I like the idea of having a room dedicated to language acquisition 8) I’m wondering if anyone has considered making an ISO/CD/DVD of basic installs that people could use. I think in Milwaukee at least one session was trying to teach stuff but people had to spend time downloading and installing everything.
Course I like artifacts, so ideally I could also get a disc or full download of everything that happens at Bar Camp two, too.
I could help with Java (I have an old intro text I wrote) or Ruby or Rails(1) or a basic Grails session. I’d like to see a Lua and even PHP too if anyone is willing.
Maybe (hopefully) all of the programming language presenters could sort of coordinate so that their sessions to collide so that they can all attend each others presentations?
I’ve being meaning to make time to sit down with Python. It would be really useful to improve my skills with Pywikipediabot, a wiki editing framework we occasionally use on Sourcewatch
In fact they’ve created a page on Wikiversity to do something similar.

bandwagon.jump!
Following the chain, I could do an introductory Ruby session.
@grettke I’m going to try
@grettke
I’m going to try to schedule the really introductory session before this session (in the same room, even)
Maybe you’d like to chain the Lisp session on as well, as I’m looking forward to attending that.
Programming language chaining
I’m all for it. When/where do we do the coordinating?
Can someone just cordon off one of the rooms for a contiguous block for us?
Sounds good
That sounds really good.

I'll be there.
Python is cool, especially pygame and Google App Engine. Aside from App Engine, I haven’t got much chance to use it, though!
